La Liga de Beisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente (LBPRC) has unveiled its new logo. While refreshing the image of the league, the new insignia honors Roberto Clemente, a legendary baseball player who played in Puerto Rican teams as well as MLB’s 
The change of the emblem was initiated by the president of the LBPRC board of directors Jose Julio Feliciano, and unanimously approved by its members.
As the league’s president Juan A. Flores Galarza said, the main goal of the logo is to pay tribute to Roberto Clemente and the number 21 — Clemente’s symbol – with which he became one of the greatest players in MLB, and the league is proud to bear his name.
Also, the board of directors approved that all the teams of LBPRC will carry the logo in their uniforms (on the upper back), beginning from the upcoming season which will start on November 6th, featuring five teams: Criollos de Caguas, Indios de Mayagüez, Cangrejeros de Santurce, Gigantes and RA12.
